The next day at school was like any other day. The head teacher gave us our assignments and we began to work. Ms. P was sitting at her desk wearing a blue dress, tan hose and those tan flats again. I think those flats were her favorite because she wore them all the time.

The head teacher asked if anyone was not finished to raise their hand. As she looked over the room she saw no hands. The head teacher told us to form two lines so our papers could be graded. Line one was for Ms. P. Line two was for the head teacher. I got up quickly and got into Ms. P's line. I could see that she had her legs crossed dangling her shoe off the tips of her toes again.

When I reached Ms. P she was glad to see me. She made smalltalk and proceeded to grade my paper. When I looked down I saw that her shoe was dangling on one toenail. I couldn't help myself so I brushed her foot with my leg and knocked the shoe to the floor. Ms. P didn't bother to put it back on. She kept on grading my paper.

I looked around and nobody was paying attention to me. When the time was right I kicked Ms. P's shoe and coughed at the same time to muffle the sound. Ms. P didn't notice a thing and when she finished grading my paper she told me "very good". As I was going back to my seat I took the long way around and found Ms. P's shoe by the filing cabinet. I acted like I dropped something and picked up the shoe and stuffed it in my pants. I went to the closet where we kept our bookbags and put the shoe in my bookbag. When I returned to my seat a few more students were still getting their papers graded and Ms. P still had no idea what just happened.

Once all the papers were graded we had about 15 minutes before the day was over. Ms. P was looking around for her shoe again but couldn't find it. She got on her hands and knees looking under her desk and then the head teacher asked "what are you doing"? Ms. P said "I'm trying to find my shoe". The head teacher said, "oh no, not again". Ms. P continued to look for her shoe but couldn't find it so she asked the head teacher for help. This time the head teacher said "NO"! "I have my work to do. I don't have time to look for your shoes". Ms. P kept trying to make her case but the head teacher wasn't going for it. She also reminded Ms. P that she had bus duty and it was time for us to line up and go home.

Ms. P stopped looking for her shoe. I could see that she had a sad look on her face as she told us to line up by the door. Her face was red with embarrassment as she stood there wearing one shoe. Some of the students asked Ms. P what was wrong and all Ms. P could say was that she couldn't find her shoe.

When 3:00 came Ms. P walked us into the hall and lined us up beside the wall. Other students, teachers, and parents noticed that Ms. P was wearing only one shoe and they kept making comments about it. At this point Ms. P begin to cry. She walked us to the buses and watched each student until we got on the bus safely the whole time wearing one shoe.

When my bus driver cranked the bus I knew that I was going to get away with it. All I could say was YES! YES! YES! As the bus began to roll away I looked back at Ms. P and she was standing with her arms folded crying. When the bus reached the driveway Ms. P walked back inside the building.

To make a long story short I think you all know what I did when I got home. LOL. Until next time!
